Judd Thompson

Judd Thompson of South China grew up in Kittery, and after a stint in the Peace Corps, spent the early years of his engineering career building space shuttles in California. After returning to Maine more than 20 years ago, Judd retired his slide rule and became a full-time stay at home dad. There were a few distractions: Judd built their home in South China; there are now three kids, and there was a short service in the Maine State House of Representatives, but Judd has focused his and his family’s ethos on a deep appreciation of the natural world around us.

Judd has recently completed a Masters Degree in Education and expects local environmental concerns to be a cornerstone of his classroom in Pittsfield. Collaboration, whether in the classroom or fields and forests, is a recipe for success and it is heartening to have so many willing partners at SRLT.
