Peter Abello

Peter Abello of Freedom grew up on Wind Ridge Farm in Edgecomb.  His formative years found him exploring the 100-acre woodlot where he and his brother helped his parents cut firewood, build trails and recreate.  Since 1995, when he graduated from Unity College, Peter has been employed in the natural resources conservation field.  He has surveyed Maine deer wintering yards, banded song birds in Oregon, educated hikers about alpine ecosystems on the tallest peaks of New York and Vermont, and worked on trail crews in New Hampshire and Maine.  Peter currently is a Soil Conservationist employed by the Natural Resources Conservation Service, a USDA agency that provides conservation planning assistance to landowners.  He works out of the Skowhegan office, covering Somerset County.
