Buck O’Herin and Tom Mullin of the Waldo County Trails Coalition, Hills-to-Sea Trail, a new footpath from Unity to Belfast.  The western section from Unity to Frye Mountain in Montville has been open since June 2016, and the eastern side is just miles away from completion.

Heather McCargo, Executive Director
of the Wild Seed Project.
She is an educator with 30 years experience in plant propagation, landscape design and conservation. A former head plant propagator at the New England Wild Flower Society’s Garden in the Woods, she has lectured nationally and is widely published in horticultural journals and magazines.

“Lessons from Avian Haven Wild Bird Rehabilitation Center: A Citizen’s Guide to Helping the Birds of Maine.” Laura Suomi-Lecker, education and outreach coordinator at Avian Haven, will discuss common reasons why birds are admitted to the facility in Freedom and what citizens can do to help local birds.
