About The Event

Dr James Killarney along with Dr Kevin Spigel and Dr. Kathleen Dunkel utllized drones to do foundational water quality monitor on Lake Winnecook two summers ago.  Their project was funded in a part by a grant from NASA.   Dr. Killarney will be sharing the challenges and opportunities that he and his colleagues had in this new approach to lake research and monitoring.

After Jim's presentation, he and SRLT Board member Tom Mullin  will share the plans for the upcoming Lake Winnecook (aka Unity Pond) Watershed Plan Update.  Funded by a grant from the EPA and the Maine DEP, the Waldo County Soil and Water Conservation District is overseeing the plan update with the support of many local non profit organizations as they implement this $65,000 grant.
