About The Event
Join printmakers Lia Goncalves and Elizabeth Jabar and Benton Alewife Festival committee members in preparing fish flags and other celebratory materials in preparation for the May 18th Benton Alewife Festival! Learn about a variety of printmaking techniques on cloth and paper. We will be creating flags for the festival tent and for the first annual Benton Fish Parade! But, you will have an opportunity to create some additional prints if you bring your own materials – we are looking for donations of materials to turn into the flags (cotton/muslin fabric, pillowcases, sheets, etc). We also encourage bringing your own sewing machine if possible – these are needed to sew space for a dowel or pole. It helps to know how many people can join us, so you can register here (but also feel free to join us if your time frees up at the last minute!). Light refreshments will be available.
