About The Event

Presented by Jeff & Gail Guesman.

One of the underlying principles of Sebasticook Regional Land Trust is “…celebrating the wonder, beauty and diversity of the Sebasticook River, and doing so in a way that connects local people to each other, the resources and the cultural heritage that has shaped and been shaped by it”. Maple sugaring has long been part of our heritage in the northeast and you’ll learn how Jeff & Gail Guesman continue the spring time tradition with family and friends; how Gail’s father started making syrup at her childhood home and when he introduced Jeff to the process. You’ll see how the Guesmans have honed their process and equipment in 30+ years of backyard sugaring. Come join us and see how the sweet smell of boiling sap fills the air during sugaring season at their north Newport home.

Please note this is not a commercial operation, no products are offered for sale.
