Birds & Breakfast at Goosepecker Ridge

Susie O’Keeffe welcomes us as we search for birds at her Montville property.  The hike includes a portion of the Hills to Sea trail.  We’ll explore a mature hemlock forest and enjoy extraordinary views.  After birding, Susie will serve continental breakfast and host discussion.  Meet at 181 Goosepecker Ridge Rd (2 miles south of where Goosepecker forks off Freedom Pond Rd).  Take the dirt driveway when the road turns 90 degrees to the west.  Keep left to the entrance of the drive.  Bring binoculars and waterproof footwear; high boots are suggested.  Board chair Tom Aversa will identify the birds we encounter.  Leave pets at home.  Susie’s property is dedicated to pollinator health, restoration and organics, so please apply  insecticides at home or in your car before entering the property.  The event is co-sponsored by the Hills to Sea Trail Coalition.
