About The Event

Pleasant Lake Preserve trails take us through a variety of woodland and shoreline habitats. Recent observations there include Scarlet Tanager, Ovenbird, Northern Waterthrush, Wood Ducks, Osprey fishing, Eagles, a variety of woodpeckers, and Sandhill Cranes. Alison Whitlock is a retired USFWS wildlife biologist with a special interest in reptiles and amphibians, so we will also learn about preferred habitat for garter snakes and woodland frogs and salamanders, among other wildlife that thrive in these protected woodlands.
