About The Event

Family friendly! Where does a stream end and the forest begin? Who lives in streams, and how do those critters interact with the rest of the world? Come explore the ecology of Sandy Stream and meet some of the animals that live in its waters. Tall boots recommended but not required. Led by Maine Master Naturalist Val Watson. Meet at the Connor Mill Trail kiosk.

This popular trail in Unity near the intersection of Main Street (Route 9) and Quaker Hill Rd. features access to Sandy Stream, colorful foliage in fall, an old Mill Site, and two loops totaling up to three miles through silver maple-bur oak floodplain and mixed woodland. The short east loop from the kiosk is open year-round, the longer loop past Bacon Brook is closed from November 1 through spring.
