About The Event
Along with fields managed for grassland bird habitat, our 116-acre Richardson Memorial Preserve contains acres of woodland with over a mile of frontage on Sandy Stream. Please join us to remove invasive bush honeysuckle along the edges where field meets forest, and in the timber harvest area where we can minimize the impact of this invasive plant on the early successional forest that provides nesting and foraging habitat for a wide variety of birds. Meet at the preserve kiosk off Stevens Rd. in Unity at 8 am. (we will be finishing by 11 am for people who will be participating in MOFGA's Great Maine Apple Day!). Equipment is provided, but please bring heavy duty gloves, appropriate footwear, and water. Hope to see you there!
