A trail built by community and Unity College volunteers winds through forested wetlands, woods and old fields.  A wintertime spur trail provides access to the Bog, a high-quality example of a "raised-level bog" ecosystem.   The property is closed to hunting and motorized vehicles, with the exception of snowmobiles in winter on the approved trail.  For a trail map click on the map image below.
The 189-acre Kanokolus Bog Preserve was donated by the Packard Family of Unity in 2011 to protect its wildlife and to create a safe place to enjoy the woods year-round.

Directions from the downtown Unity to Kanokolus Bog Preserve:
Travel Route 202 south towards Albion.  At 3.6 miles look for the preserve sign and parking area
on the left on the east side of the road.  The lot is kept open in winter by volunteer snow plower David Smith.
